The Inaugural Good Doctors Foundation Reception, Dinner, and Auction
The Good Doctors Foundation is hosting our Inaugural Good Doctors Reception and Dinner honoring Senior Good Doctors in the Richmond area on Wednesday, May 10, 2023.
It will be a wonderful opportunity to reunite with so many people that we worked with for decades, and to support our mission to assist patients through their medical journey.
We will initiate a yearly Lifetime Achievement Award for an individual with special contributions to the Medical Community, with our initial award honoring Dr. Alvin M. Zfass for his seven decades of incomparable teaching and devotion to Gastroenterology.
We will be treated to a presentation by Dr. Zfass on Richmond Medicine 1963-2023, “How Did We Get Here?”
Additionally, we will honor awards posthumously for Dr. James A. (Tom) Thompson, a pioneer in Transplant Cardiology and Heart Failure, and Dr. Christopher Desch, a distinguished Oncologist and visionary for improving cancer care in the community.
An auction will be conducted for a two-night “Edenton NC Experience”. Edenton is North Carolina’s beautifully preserved first Colonial capital which has been described as the prettiest small town in the South. Edenton visitors enjoy the most intact Colonial courthouse in America (circa 1767), the 1886 Roanoke River Lighthouse, bay cruises, historic trolley tours, paddling on Edenton Bay, delightful dining, and a charming downtown near the waterfront.
Donations of $130.00 per person includes a $50.00 contribution to the Good Doctors Foundation, a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) public charity. Guests are also invited, and the event will be business casual.
Reservations are limited due to capacity, and the reservation deadline is April 30, 2023.
